Have any of you experienced symptoms before discovering you had Diabetes or now? My doctor says I may be "pre-diabetic" and has ordered a 3 hour glucose tolerance test for tomorrow. I am having numbness, stinging and burning in my limbs and just a general all over "ugh" feeling.

Be thankful your doctor is going to do the test. We can be diabetic for about 10 years before being diagnosed.

The sooner you find out the better. If doctor thinks you are pre-diabetic then please make food choices and portion control the same as if you were diabetic. Purchase a glucometer to test glucose 2 hrs. after meals, at bedtime and before breakfast. A fasting blood sugar number should be between 70-110. Two hrs. after a meal should be 120 or less. At bedtime should be about same as morning number or little higher.
