I have been a diabetic a long time,this is the first time i have had this problem and i cant get it in control. My blood sugar ran high for a couple days and had me spilling large ketones. My blood sugars are now normal but i am still sick cant eat and drink much and spilling ketones. I am not sure what to do. I talked to my doctor but he is just a primary but its another 6 months before i can get in to a specialist because my primary is not much help and i am really sick. Anyone had this problem before

Spilling ketones and being as sick as you are, your doctor should probably have hospitalized you. I would call him again. It's quite dangerous for a diabetic to be spilling ketones...even if your BG is normal now, if it goes up you could be in serious trouble.

Also, if you can't keep anything down, you can become dehydrated, which is also serious for a diabetic. My suggestion would be to call your doctor and push him to call on an endo for consultation...he can consult with an endo without making an appointment for you. It is absolutely unconscionable that he is not taking this more seriously and having you wait six months!

Also, you could consider going to an emergency room.
