can anyone tell me what fever temps your babies got during teething, did it get worse before a tooth? my ds had congestion for 3 nights, and this morning had 101 fever and tonight 102.5 I gave him tylenol, which helps, he was just at docs saturday and was fine, now either teething or sick, any suggestions. thanks

I think they all differ, as some in our office will say they can, and some will say no lol, who knows :)

A low grade fever is acceptable, not a high temp. DS has been cutting teeth left and right for 2 months. He has 3 at the moment and one popping out any time now. His temp is around 99.1-99.8 when its clsoe to cutting.

Congestion and teething can cause ear infections which can cause fevers...I'd go in again and get that ruled out just to be safe. But keep using the Tylenol to bring the fever down...I know once DD had a fever and Tylenol brought it down a bit but not much so I took her in and they gave her Advil and her temp came down so if Tylenol isn't working maybe try some infant Advil. Goodluck.

Ditto what Friday said, teething does not bring a fever. Thats an old wives tale. Something else is going on. And any fever over 100.4 that lasts more than 24 hours should be reported to your ped.

im a first time mom, and i asked about teething, my son just got his two bottom teeth in this past week, he had diareah(sp) for the past two weeks, im guessing its from the teeth, but ped. says he will get nothing while teething, except teeth....

I didn't read about the 101-102 temp when I posted, selective reading I guess. It is possible for your baby to come down with something right after his doctor's appointment. If his fever is that high I would take him in to get checked out. Don't give him tylenol or anything before the appointment as they won't see how high his temp is and it could mask some symptoms he has.
