Hi All,

My DD is 7.5 months and has just started using a sippy cup. I read that it was good to start early.

Anyway, I recently had someone tell me that now that she uses the sippy, to stop giving her a bottle or eventually the novelty of the sippy will wear off and she will only take the bottle. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it appropriate for them to take their formula in a sippy?

you can still give her the bottle, it will eventually wear off. My dd took a bottle til bout 13 months give or take, I had a little bit of a hard time getting her to drink milk out of the sippy, but I gave her milk in it, and nothing else til she drank it, it was either drink it or go thirsty lol, she got it, and I took the bottle away.

My ds has been drinking from a sippy since about 8 months, but will only take the watered down juice in it, I gave it to him with formula yesterday, thinking I can take the bottle away, I think I will try this again, when we start milk and see what happens, it worked well the last time. He just took a sip and kinda spit it out and was like, "ma what the heck is this" lol, I think you will be fine. good luck

I never had a problem with either kid. I gave 'em both sippys with formula until age 1 when they switched to milk. Maybe I was lucky, they both loved the sippy and the bottle, so they'd drink out of anything!
