20withacne 01-09-2003, 12:33 PM What exactly is glucose intolerance? Jann 01-10-2003, 09:23 PM Here's what I found, I hope it helps... Glucose intolerance is a condition closely associated with type 2 diabetes. High blood sugar levels are present, but not high enough to warrant a diagnosis of diabetes. Insulin is still produced by the body, but in insufficient amounts to control blood sugar levels effectively. Glucose intolerance is often considered an early warning sign for type 2 diabetes: one to ten percent of people with glucose intolerance develop type 2 diabetes every year. Over 20 million people in the United States live with glucose intolerance. |
