I have a lot of symtoms of being diabetic. I decided to go get a meter and test myself a few times. I dont understand these things. Can they be off sometimes. The last three days I have done test 2 hours after eating and I was from 150-160. So I thought I might have diabetes. When I tested 30 minutes after eating my numbers were 190-200. Now I have done 2 of the fasting test in the morning. It was at 30-40 both times. I thought if you had diabetes your count was high. Why could mine be going high and then low in mornings.

The glucose range for people without diabetes should be between 70-110 before eating. Less than 160 1 hr after eating and less than 120 2 hrs after eating.
If your getting an extreme range make sure your meter is set up right by doing a control solution test code # on display should match code # on vial if not change display on meter untill it does Put test strip in meter and aply drop of control solution should fall between range on vial usually between 75 and 115 If not there may be something wrong with the meter.
