I was wondering if the symptoms for high blood sugar were similar to those of low blood sugar? I thought I might have low blood sugar because I was having trembling, sweating, cold hands and feet, nightmares, waking up during the night and sometimes I have mind-body disconnect where I cannot remember how to do the simplest tasks. However, I find my blood sugar tests are coming out on the higher end of the scale rather than the lower. My fasting blood sugar has been pretty consistent with the high 120s and while I know that is not like 400 or so, it is still evidently considered above normal.

Yes, although your symptoms seem to resemble low blood sugar, or hypoglycemia, it would be a good idea to undergo a glucose tolerance test. That should provide you with a much clearer picture of what your particular problem is. Have you consulted a doctor regarding this problem?

Yes, I have discussed it with my doctor and her nurse who is a friend of mine and they suggested that I test my blood sugar with a glucometer for awhile to see a pattern. I was suppposed to test while having the symptoms but decided to test my fasting level, etc. too. I was surprised that they were a little high instead of low however. Sometimes after I eat the blood sugar drops instead of rises but seldom below 100. I think the lost test I have so far is 94 one hour after eating and then back up to 115 two hours after eating. Those were the lowest so far. Thank you for any help you can give me as I am a little confused by all of this.
