What are the symptoms of type II Diabetes? I have had a couple of years of strange symptoms and would like to know. As I wrote earlier my fasting glucose was 150 and I'm going back in for recheck. Thanx, Candee

Doug,

This has helped me tremendously! I have all of these symptoms plus my arms, legs back and neck hurt a lot and I get really stiff when sitting even for short periods of time. I'm going to Walgreens and get me a glucose tester TODAY and then follow up on Monday at the Doctors. Do you have type II Diabetes? I would be interested to know how you control it and make these darned symptoms STOP! The blurred vision has really been a problem for me too--have had my glasses changed twice in the past three months but to know avail. Thank you so much for your response--am so grateful to finally have a name for my ill health(almost). Thank you so much for caring enough to post!! Candee

My fasting glucose has been about the same for quite some time - 112 and I was always told I was "borderline". It was not until I started having numbness in my limbs that a Neurologist suggested that I be tested further for diabetes. Low and behold after having a 3 hour glucose tolerance test it showed that I was indeed diabetic. That was 2 weeks ago and I am not taking 30 mg. of Actos and in the process of getting a meter. I have also been extremely tired so hopefully I can improve my numbers and someday feel human again.

Avia,

Thanx for replying! Could you tell me a little about the three hour glucose tolerance test? Apparently you have to be out patient for three hours, right?
I got me an excellent little meter at Walgreens for only 14.95 called the Prestiges Smart Meter. The downside is it only comes w/10 test strips and and the purchase price for extras are 30.00 per 100--this is where they make their $$. I've been self testing on this meter for 2 days now and it has came up 130 and 117 both 8 hr. fasting glucose. Feel that it's time for the Glucose Tolerance for me! Thanx for your help! Candee
