[ REMOVED ]

This girl I know has these odd circular rash like things forming on the top of her foot. She says they start off as a small pimple/bug bite like bump and form these circles. The outside of the circle is harder and redder and the middle kind of hollows out (moreso than the the outter edges) It was just one circle rash but now it's like 5 or 6 and it appears like it may be getting ready to move up her leg.

She's stated she has used all kinds of fungus (athletes foot) medication from the store to no effect on it. She was thinking it may be ring worm, but ring worm is highly contagious and no one else that has had contact with the foot or her has contracted anything. As much as I have pleaded with her, I can't get her to go see the doctor.

The girl needs to see a doctor or risk losing her foot to an unknown problem.

Here's a fact sheet on how to treat ringworm and prevent it from spreading, etc.

http://www.astdhpphe.org/infect/ringworm.html

Tell your friend to buy some over the counter medicine for it. If she doesn't know which brand to try, she can ask the pharmacist to suggest one. She needs to use it exactly as stated on the package and for as long as it says to use it (even after the ringworm is gone). Her socks should be washed in the hottest water possible (with bleach if possible). Ringworm looks bad, but at least it's easily treated.

If it is in the shape of a bullseye it could be a tick bite. If it is a tick then it could be a symptom of Lyme

I was thinking what Boston said. The way you are describing it sounds like the Lyme rash and that will spread too.
