Hi everyone. I can't believe that I am posting again. Just wondering if anyone has had a soft tissue ct scan of the neck and if so what does it look at. I thought I had swollen lymph nodes before, so I had a soft tissue ct scan. It came back and the radiologist said they were blood vessels. But, my throat has been bothering lately and am just wondering if they see the throat on the scan. Thanks everyone

i didn't even realize that they even did soft tissue CT type of scans since it normally only highlights the more boney structures and only uses actual radiation like with an x ray.thats really interesting.I am just wondering why,if your doc was actually needing a more difinitive pic of the soft tissue areas, why he just didn't opt for an MRI instead?was there some particular reason he chose not to do an MRI? do you have some sort of metal implanted in your body that prohibited the use of one?

with regard to the blood vessels,is there some sort of problem with them or did he say that this is "just" what was there, that appeared to be seeming like some sort of actual swelling was going on?were these arterial or venous?FB
