Keepsgoin . . . have you had any outbreaks? What was it like before you started taking these? Were you having constant o/B.

Blonder - I think you were doing this as well.

Sorry, I've just kinda forgotten about updating the thread. Before I started taking the OOO and OLE, I was having one OB after another. I was feeling like I was at my wits end with having constant achy feet, raw genitals, sores(usually just one or two though) as soon as the symptoms would let up from one OB about a week later I'd start having another OB. I started looking for something else to help and found threads about OOO and OLE and found a selling website that tries to sell an herbal treatment, of course they won't tell you what the miracle herb is but they show a picture of what looks to me like Oregano blooms so I thought I'd try buying OOO and OLE too. As soon as I started the OOO, I felt the herpes going away. The only symptoms of herpes I have is a spot on my wrist that pops up on and off. I have had no genital sores since the OOO and OLE, no feelings of an ob coming on me, just that spot on my wrist which I hope goes away and stays away but I can live with it and compared to how I was feeling, it's unreal!

Keepsgoin, that is great and you are having a lot more success than I am with my Airborne/Famvir cocktail. I know you aren't on antivirals. Getting Well mentioned some medical concerns about them so I just want to try and do some more research as to what I would be fueling my body with, side affects, issues down the road etc. I have a site bookmarked that has warnings about the various herbs, anything you should be cautious of etc. They do not mention OOO or OLE which means one of two things. Either there are no problems with it, or they just are not aware of any side effects which is why it is not on their website. The website only mentions herbs that could cause problems. I think I spend half the night on the computer talking about, or researching, herpes.

All I saw was "no known side effects" but if you see anything let me know...I know that a lot of people take zinc for this and you have to watch the quantity of zinc intake.

Keepsgoing, I haven't found anything negative in my search but I have a question. They both say they are used for fighting bacterial infections. Herpes is a viral infection so I'm just not sure why it works for herpes. Any input?

Hello. First post, but have been reading since I got first OB August 05. Anyway, after the fist ob went away, I got another one 3 months later (11/05). The next one 2 months later (1/06), then starting in late feb 2005 I had around 6 back to back.

After reading some of the post, I decided to start using OOO. I started right after my last ob cleared up 5/20. So far I have been ob free. I have been using the drops under my tongue (2-3) twice per day. I hope this keeps up. I'll will keep y-all updated. How are you doing with it keepsitgoin?

Hi everyone...here's the latest. I have just had a mild OB, it's a little different than the other OBs in the past...I was itching like crazy around the pelvic bone area and it was inflamed and then a day later there was one sore and the itching/inflamation went away. I'm still taking OOO and OLE. My BF has gotten some hideous cold sores but he's not taking the OOO or OLE...you know how men are...haha! I kept having a constant OB on my wrist though...it was go away and come back over and over. I read about controling/treating OBs and in a couple things I read they mentioned putting VIT. E oil on it and either it was meant to finally go away or the E oil did the trick! So I put E on the newest OB and right away the itching stopped...OH and the itching was aweful on my wrist and the E oil took the itching right away!!! I have some of that really pure E oil from Vit. World that's like $14 a bottle...try opening up a vit. E gel cap and see if it helps. Also I went to a clinic the other day and was talking to the nurse about having OBs and she said that having constant OBs is not unusual at all!!!!! I had gotten scared because my BF had such an ugly huge sore on his face and I started thinking that all these OBs could be because we have HIV so I got us tested!, well we tested negative thank GOD! I think herpes makes us paranoid! Haha! After being afraid for my life that my BF could have given my HIV too and finding out he didn't, It kinda puts Herpes in perspective...it's a pain in the rear(literally!) but I can live with it! I can't say for sure if the OOO and OLE are what's been helping keep the OBs under control all I Know is that before taking them I was getting OBs all the time.

About the herbs being anti bacterial...I thought I read the were anti virals? I've read that oregano is one of the herbs that actually kills the virus in the lab in a petri dish.

Hello again, thought I would update anybody that might be listening. So, I did the ooo from 5/20 till 6/25, being outbreak free the whole time. I stopped because of a vacation, and sat back and hoped I was done for good.

About a week and a half after stopping the ooo, I got another outbreak. I thought it was a freak, last only outbreak. . .but I was wrong. I continued getting back-2-backs until about the middle of august (I think 5-6).

Anyway, at that point I figured my immuned system couldn't battle it alone, so I started taking ooo again, and a smaller dosage (I now take 3 drops under my tongue once per day). In the last month and a half, I have had only 1 super small episode. So minor that I barely noticed it before it was gone.

Anyway, just so you all know out there, OOO works wonders for me. I'm not the type to take any kind of medicine or vitamins (I think last medication other than ooo was a tylonal for a fever, and I took it sometime in '04), but I will continue to take OOO (even with the nasty taste. It still brings tears to my eyes everytime I take it) for as long as it works for me.

Thanks for the members on this board for reccomending this solution!

Has anybody else been successful batteling herpes with ooo? Please respond with your experience!!

I'm still taking OOO...I have an OB here and there still but no bad ones anymore. I haven't tried to stop taking it so I can't be sure if it's the OOO but I don't want to take any chances. What I can tell you is that as soon as I started taking OOO the OBs became less and less...I'm not willing to experiment with not taking it just yet!

WOW this sounds great...so nice to hear success stories, gives those of us newly exposed and struggling with the OB's a glimpse of hope. :)

I myself haven't heard of OOO and OLE, but if they might help and with no known side effects, why not try it?!

As soon as I found out there was suspicion of the H virus after a physical exam with the Dr. who suspected I was having a primary/initial OB, I jumped on the internet and starting researching what to do to boost my immune system. I immediately began taking a good multivitamin once a day, extra Vitatmin C (1-2 chewables a day), an extra Calcium/Magnesium supplement (1-2 a day), L-Lysine (500 mg twice a day).

However, it didn't seem to help much as I was hit with a recurrent (2nd) OB just 9 days days after I had completely healed from the first one. I don't know why I had one so close or soon after the first, but I did. It's only now that I'm almost healed up from the recurrent OB and it'll be 3 weeks in a couple days....so much for shorter duration and less intense symptoms...my sores (every one of them) blistered this time and the last batch that broke out was much worse during this recurrent OB than the primary one. Anyway, because of how my body thus far seems to be reacting to this virus, I figured I'd step up the supplements even more, so I started taking Garlic Oil tablets just this past weekend, as well as Primrose Oil (omega 6).

I have a couple questions though:

1) Being that I don't know what H type I have (as that test is not readily available here in Manitoba, Canada), how much does Lysine help if you actually have type 2, or does it help at all with that strain?

2) Is it Omega 6 or Omega 3 that's recommended to take if you have this virus...or is it both?

3) Can someone confirm what OOO and OLE is?

4) Is there anything else that I can take (natural herbs/vitamins) that will aid in boosting the immune system (I read something about cod liver oil tablets)?

Any suggestions would be grand! :D

OOO and OLE are Oil of Oregano and Olive Leaf Extract...if you hurry, you can catch the buy one get one free special at Vitamin World...ends Wednesday! I buy the gel caps in the OOO not the drops. I tend to buy at VW because they sell better quality than Walmart etc. I also just added Omega 3 and Cod Liver Oil and some extra C..I can't say for sure if this is what's helping but I've felt the most herpes free since I started taking these additional suppliments than I have since I first got herpes. I can honestly say I don't feel any herpes symptoms whatsoever!

I'll have to check things out...there is no VW in my area.

So does Lysine help with H type 2? And is it garlic oil tablets that work best...or another kind of garlic tabs?

Everyone says that Lysine helps with hsv2...I take it, I didn't see any improvement when I started taking it unlike when I started taking OOO which I felt better right away after taking OOO. I also take garlic gel pills...I like only the odorless ones...I won't take them if they aren't odorless...there again, I don't know if they will help that much but I have taken garlic for years. You can also use the oil out of the garlic pill as a topical treatment for herpes...some swear by it. It's weird because some times it seems like things work and other times nothing seems to help:dizzy: I swore by vitamin E oil and then I used it during another OB and nothing seemed to help.

You can definately have it under your arm...so now the next time you go to the doctor, have them swab that place under your arm for herpes. The rash on my wrist and also between my fingers itches terribly like a poison ivy rash...it has tiny little bumps that if opened(scratched) will ooz.
