View Full Version : when is it ok to work out after haveing baby?

i gave birth on may the 5th and i was planning on doing situps and kegals to get back to shape and walking when my stitches heal so theres no pain but when is the earliest i can start doing these things to get back into shape

I think kegals is ok right away. Then slowly walking more and more. My nurse says you know your doing too much if your bleeding gets heavier then take it easy.

BTW congrats on the new bundle :)

I agree with the previous poster. For anything more vigorous you should wait at least until you have had your 6 week check up.
I started doing too much too soon, and my bleeding did get heavier. That's how I knew to slow down.

I waited the full 6 weeks. I had a C-Section and could not do anything. My DS is 7 weeks old now and I am walking 2 miles a day and doing Pilates..I have to start slow and build back up! I would probably wait the 6 weeks to do anything just to be on the safe side.
