I have been bowel issues on and off for some years now. I am 30 years old and have 3 children. About 3-4 years ago, I started having bright red bleeding after a bowel movement. It would drip in the toilet and it burned my bottom. Well, that has gone away over a period of time and I am not having that anymore. Now, I have noticed that my b/m's look like they have been rubbing on something, they looked "jagged", if that makes any sense....sorry for all the information. I have also noticed that they have been darker than usual. I am really worried because I am 11 weeks pregnant and I do not want to do a colonosposy now. Do you think it will be okay to wait until after the baby is born? My Grandma just got diagnosed with colon cancer and my Great Grandmother passed away from it. Thank You.....

You need to report this to a doctor as soon as possible. Start at your gyne's office if you don't have a primary doctor. He/she will determine the safety of having a colonoscopy while pregnant. (It should be safe, from what I know.) The fact that your stool is darker may indicate the presence of blood (although it might just be from the iron in your prenatal vitamins), and that "rubbed" look isn't right, either.
Call the doctor today - please! Your baby will need a healthy mother for a long time to come.

Get over to your doc's right away.

Blood in the stool should always be investigated as it is possible that something is seriously wrong. This is not likely, but should definately be investigated. Just tell your Doc that you are pregnant - they will then be able to advise you acordingly.

This symptoms cannot be ignored - make the call today :bouncing:

Good luck
