View Full Version : What is UK Testosterone range?

Have just got my Testosterone levels checked by my GP here in the UK and he said it was "fine". On pushing, he told me it was 17.

Unfortunately I cannot find anywhere that gives me the standard reference range in the UK so I can at least see if I' in the middle, or at the bottom end.

Anyone know these numbers, or have a link to a website that does please?

we can't give links or post cut & pastes of medical sites.

In the USA the total tetsosterone levels are usually from 300 to 800. 300 is for a 90 year old male & most normal males would be in the upper 1/2 of the range.

So ask the doctor for a copy of your test results. In the USA the doc is required to give a copy. The range is always on the USA test results. You should be in at the very top of the Testosterone range as a teen & in the bottom 1/2 of the Estrogen E2 range..

I agree with JinL you need a copy of your result to see the units of the test. No doctor or his staff should mind giving you a copy for your records. I'm guessing the results are in nmol/l. In this case 17 corresponds to just under 500- ng/dl which is the normal U.S. scale. This would be on the low side of normal. Many doctors would say above 300 is ok but if you are having any symptoms of low T and you are below 500 I would say there "could" be a problem there.
