I don't normally take a peak down there when I'm having an outbreak to see what is happening. Okay, I will admit that I have put on latex gloves and checked it out, but very infrequently. Today I decided to take a look, just to make sure I was not having blisters and that instead they were just the little red dot/cuts that I had seen before. I noticed a greenish discharge . . . or at least I thought it was greenish. Does anyone else get discharge with their o/b? Sorry to be so graphic but I just don't know if two things could be going on at the same time or whether discharge is a normal part of an o/b.

H.I.--

I've read that "vaginal discharge" is common with an OB, but I've never seen any websites that mentioned exactly what kind of vaginal discharge is common or normal. I noticed that I have some spotting of some brownish/light pink blood everytime an OB starts. I read on one site that herpes often affects the cervix in women, although in no way is associated with cancer. I think the site basically said that herpes can irritate the cervix during an OB, causing cervicitis. Interestingly, after the first time I slept with the "H" Guy, I had cervicitis and odd itching symptoms. I was found to have bacterial vaginosis, so it was attributed to that. But then, the 2nd time I was with the "H" Guy, I AGAIN had cervical irriation diagnosed as cervicitis. This time, I was negative for bacterial vaginosis and all of the STD's--EXCEPT herpes. Herpes never even came to my mind. I have a Paragard IUD, so my doctor and I figured that the IUD was causing some cervical irritation after sex. Now, after having full-blown OB's, I know that my spotting and cervical irriation is in fact a herpes outbreak!
