Does it actually make any difference when you take a different brand of medication? For example, I took Citalopram 10mg for 2 weeks made by a company called IVAX, but now I've been given the same 10mg from a different pharmacist, except the brand is different. Does this really make any difference, or should you stick to the same brand all the time?

its unlikely to make a difference in fact both tablets may be the same, a lot of generics are made under different names by the same co, also often the company that makes the original version also sometimes packages the same med under a different brand as a generic, using a different shaped tablet and brand name

the strengths have to be the same, so 10 mg of 1 version is the same as 10 mg of any other
10 is a fairly high starting dose but if you are coping OK, stay on it, your dose may need upping to get the med working, a typical dose range is 10 to 60

I'm quite happy with 10mg, side effects have passed, and I've felt a bit better. I decided when talking to my GP that increasing the dose would make coming off the tablets harder, something I don't want. Thanks!

10 is fine as long as the med is actually working for you and you arent just getting a placebo effect from it

TBH, the problem I can fight even without medication - I'm just using it to stop my "negative thoughts" that just seem to appear out of nowhere inbetween thinking.
