View Full Version : Why does my chest and left arm feel so weird all the time? Frustrated!!!

I get these weird sensations/pressure in my chest and I am just sitting in a chair or standing up and I get random pains that are so difficult to describe. For a moment it feels like my heart was slightly being squeezed. My left arm hurts sometimes but I have partially dislocated my shoulder once, hyper extended that elbow several times, and pinched a nerve there. My wrist hurt for a few seconds and my upper arm then goes away.

Yesterday I had a panic attack and my heart raced to 120 bpm, no chest pains or arm pains at all.

I have had several EKG's, treadmill stress test. Wore a looping monitor for a week, had a Dobutamine Stress Test w/ Echocardiagram and all came back "normal" and my Doc says that I do not have Angina.

I see my psychologist for the 1st time on the 15th.

Seriously, what gives?

Mr...

I know exactly how u feel and how very fustrating it can be, especially when there never seems to be an answer, how fustrating it is to think something is psychically wrong but again proven wrong. I went through the same thing and came up with nothing, I do realize from time to time that anxiety can do many unexplain things that bothers the heck out of you and what sucks the most is that as many times as we get these sensations time and time again, we are never satisfied with "you are fine" or "you are going to be ok" but all I can say at this moment is try and stay positive and hope that in time it will go away, I know that doesnt mean much but is all I can think of to try and ease your fustration.

Take Care and Best of luck with ur doctor..

a beta blocker as needed would help, do try to accept the docs assurances and take less notice of your body
especially, our hearts work best when we ignore them :jester:

I went through this and still do off and on but it was daily for months like 7 or 8 .....left arm/shoulder/chest pains scared the heck out of me I had chest xray, blood, ekg, stress test with echocardiogram mine came back all healthy too....so I do believe stress and anxiety can be the cause and like you said you have hurt that arm before could be why also or at least contribute to the pains.I agree with hry on the beta blockers if the heart palps are that bothersome but doc says your heart is fine maybe ask about a beta blocker to reduce or take away those palps

They aren't palps just pains but they don't make sense. I think I am too hyper sensative. I notice that they are more prominent in the morning and early afternoon and as the day goes on they are less common.
