My baby recently started eating rice cereal- before we started the cereal he was eating 6 oz's of formula So, when i feed him cereal i give him 4 oz's of formula then i mix 1 oz of formula with his 1 tblsp of cereal- so that only equals 5 oz of formula- should i be feeding him 2 more oz's after the cereal is done- or is the 4oz's and cereal enough?? I'm so confused. Any tips would be fabulous.
Thanks

I think the only thing to make sure is try giving your baby more & see if he'll take it. If he want's more, he'll eat. I learned that babies are not like goldfish. They will stop when they're full.
Try out some different things over the course of several days....I'd even say a week. Some days babies eat more or less than other days (just like us), so just a day of trying out something new isn't enough information to make your final decision. A new routine will likely evolve on it's own after you start trying things out.
I know that seems vague. My Ped's instructions for going on solids was, "take the cues from your baby". That seemed so non-specific and I was searching for more concrete details...but that vague generality is really the best advice.
Good luck.

I don't know if this will help or not but what I did was give him the cereal and then after he was finished I would nurse him to see if he wanted more. At first he was nursing afterwards I think because he was eating so little cereal only 1-2 tablespoons. Now he eats more than that and if he is still hungry I give him a bit more cereal or nurse him. He is usually good after the cereal, he eats about 4 tablespoons of the cereal now, last night he ate 6. He has been on cereal about 2-3 weeks.
Maybe just offer him the bottle after the cereal and you'll be able to tell if he is full from the cereal.
