Hi, I have been denied twice, and have appointment with lawyer for hearing. The questionaire the lawyer sent concerns physical limitations mostly. My Dr has said no medication will cure me, he also submitted disability for food stamps so I would not required to go on job interviews. The social security Dr said I neded to be in Therapy every week. Between the two dRs, and the terapist I have heard MDD, PTSD, Social phobia, Anxiety, Bi-polar, and Manic depressive, but the last diagnosses is MDD recurrent mod. I am afraid now after reading several articles that my lawyer may not except my case, or that the doctors will not support my case. I am currently on antidepressent to help with suicidle cravings, and on valum for anxiety, but I do not like side effects. any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I posted this once but must have done something wrong, sorry for repitition.

I went to my lawyer, and he said I have good case. I was so worried and anxious, it seems so hard for me to get help. I hope my posting will help to ease others minds a little, even though my appeal has just started. I have learned a lot from the postings on this board, even though my posting was not answered. I think I just needed encouargement anyway. So I just thought I wanted update anyone who was interested.
Thanks

Relax, you'll do just fine. My mom had to wait three yrs b4 she received her disability. She wasn't as sick as you, but she was sick. She mostly had physical things wrong with her. The Admin. Judge told my mom that he thought her meds were causing a lot of her problems, but he granted her the disability.

Good luck to you and hang in there, you will probably get disability.

Thank You for your reply. Now today the Doctor almost sounded as if didn't support me. He said it was his job to encouarge me to get better. I don't know if he is just supposed to say that or not. After all he has supported it up until now. Thank God I have A good Lawyer.
Thanks again for your reply!

Don't go and get yourself all upset over this turnaround with your doctor. SSDI really doesn't base their decision on the opinion of your private doctor. They use their own guidelines on what they will accept. It will be your lawyers job to state case reference on your behalf.
SSDI needs to see that you are attempting to get the medical treatment necessary for your medical condition.
By their guidelines you should be doing certain things. If not they will question you as to why you didn't try everything available to maybe decrease your condition or possibly be able to make you self sufficent.
We are all different in how our condition will respond to treatment...whether it be by medication, surgery, PT, therapy. What's good for one is not good for another but you have to have the proof.
Some of the conditions you say you are being treated or it might be are sometimes managed by drugs and or therapy. But then you may be the one that it won't work.
So hang in there....

Thank you, I really needed to hear that. My lawyer had already said it really didn't matter what the doctor says. But still is frustrating, and only caused me more anxiety.
Thank you again
