Hello! Yesterday evening I took my pill in the middle of dinner. After dinner (about 10 mins later) I had a reflux. Not a lot- not like throwing up or anything, but yes some and I am just concerned that some of the pill came up with the reflux (sorry to be so depictive). That was my second pill of the month. Are there any chances of ovulation if some of the pill came out?

Thanks for the help!

I personally would use back up for 7 days, yes, just to be on the safest of safe sides

Thank you Hello :)... I think playing it safe fits us best right now... but additionally my concern arises because right before- my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex (because I am on the pill). And since I've heard that sperm can survive a couple of days inside a woman, I am somewhat concerned about ovulation.

However I will take your advice on the next 7 days :).

Thanks!

even if your reflux comes back up, as long as it goes back down the pill will go with it. I would say the reflux would have absolutely no impact on the effect of the pill

That's wonderful to hear! However, just one more detail: my immediate reaction was to spit it out :(. I do hope as you suggest that this will have no effect on the effectiveness of the pill!!! But in the worst case scenario I'm thinking maybe half a pill stayed in (just a scenario)... if that were the case, are there high chances of ovulation on just the second pill of the pack?

not really sure.. probably wouldn't hurt to ask the pharmacist. The pill may not have even dissolved... or if it did I doubt much would have come up. Vomitting is one thing because your stomach contents are being emptied, reflux is just usually a small amount of the stomach acid.
