Hi everyone,
I have been just diagnosed with a C3/C4 cervical spine subluxation of 4-5mm. Has anyone experienced this before? Will it get worse if I do not have it surgically corrected? I also have nerve damage at the C7 level. Would love some advice of what to do with my situation. Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi again JC,

I had to go back and take a look! That answers at least one of my questions.

Did they say what caused the nerve damage at the C-6/7 level? And will they repair both at the same time?

Mike

hi jc, i had my 4th c spine surgury in nov 2005. 1st in aug 2001. everytime i have 1 newproblem arises. with my personal experience, i would never done it in the 1st place had i know what could and did happen for me. i now have rsd in both my hands, wrists, and my left forearm. i was much better back in 2000, i wish i could take it all back, yt many other people would say go for it because they had successful experiences, it all depends on the individual i guess. what ever decision u make, i wouldget a secondd and third opinion from a neurosergeon, not an ortho or spine specialist, has to be a neuro... good luck on what ever decision you make and i will pray for your healing, patti

Hi Patti and Mike,
Thanks for your replies. The reason they son't so both discs at the ame time is because they are to far away from one another. One is at c/3c/4 and the other is at c/6.
I am giving lots of thoughts to having surgery again, first of all because this is such a serious surgery and second because like you, I have not had much success with them.
Thanks again for your replies!
Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Patti what is rsd? And how is it caused by the surgeries and what are the symptoms? I ask since I have awful wrist, hand and finger pain as well as forearms and elbow pain 3mo post ACDF C4/5. I had a decomp. C6/7 in 2003. I am looking at a disk replacement for C5/6 next year.

jc what permanent nerve damage do you have from C7? I also have permanent damage from my C6/7 decompression. If I lean on my right arm or bend my right wrist like to scratch my back I get cramping in the arm and shoulder area. Now I have constant twitching in the tricep area.

Dear Backinthesaddle:
My c/6-c/7 nerve damage causes clumbsiness in my hands and pain in my neck, arms and hands, I don't get the type of pain that you are talking about.
Hope you feel better soon!
