Hello,
I've read through some previous posts, and someone stated the zithromax is a macrolide, which does not interfere with the pill's effectiveness. Does anyone know this to be true? I'm hoping it is true, because I was taking the antibiotic and I did not have intercourse but some residue may have gotten on the area. If anyone can confirm this, please do! Also, where would I find this information that zithromax doesn't interfere with pill?

there's no real hard evidence that most antibiotics interfere.. but some CAN which is why it is safer to use backup. I would say that if you are on birth control.. and you didn't have sex, even if there was "residue" the chances of you being pregnant (antibiotics or no antibiotics) is pretty darn slim.

Call your gynocologist, she/he would know. I think its always safe to use back up when taking antibiotics.
