my mom got PM in 1992. she had a introvienious cure called VIG. Ihope it helps you. she is now 55 years old and doing well for what she went through. :)

Thank you for the information--my mom had the VIG transfusion last june unfortunately it did not help her.

does your mother have any muscle damage from the disease. i have been dealing with this disease for over 5 years now and i have done everything the doctors told me to do. now i am at a point where i can't walk up a flight of stairs or walk for a short period of time, not to mention i still can't get out of a chair. if you don't mind me asking, what is the status of your mom's mobility.
