Hey everyone. In the past week or so, my left eye has been having issues. the pollen in my area has been horrendous. basically my eye sorta is leaking a sticky type stuff, but its not red at all. its pretty normal looking, but its quite annoying that it leaks. it doesnt itch a whole lot either. it was really bad for a few days, and then went away after it rained finally, but then came back again today. is this just related to allergies (especially since im fairly allergic to pollen), or is it something else? any ideas?

Sounds like allergy eye to me. You can get allergy eyedrops OTC. Opcon-A is my favorite.

It sounds like my left eye! My allergist has me using Patanol, a prescription antihistamine eye drop, during allergy season. Be sure to wash your hair before going to bed. This is helpful to remove the pollen and allergens from your hair so they don't get on your pillow and in your eyes while you sleep. And wash your face before bed as well. Pollen does attach itself to your eyelashes and eyebrows. :)

thanks for the replies...
i sometimes wash my face and hair if i can remember, but thats not all the time. usually i shower when i wake up in the morning so i guess that doenst help me while i sleep. ill try and remember to do that from now on. it rained here a few days in a row, and the pollen has seemed to have gotten better, and so has my eye, but it still has its moments when it just kinda runs. hopefully itll all be gone soon. if it stays around too much longer ill ask my allergist what i should do about drops.
