Sorry for such a blunt topic, wanted to get straight to the point :o
Anyway, I have a pimple/bump on the shaft of my penis, more towards the head. It's been there for quite some time now and won't go away. It is the same color as the skin. It doesn't have a head. It's not a zit/pimple. Looks like it's more towards a fat/colesterol depost, but I have no clue. It doesn't cause any pain or discomfort. I have tried to squeeze it and pinch it as hard as possible but nothing would happen. Again, there was no pain in pinching/squeezing it and I applied A LOT of force.
Just wondering if anyone has an idea of what it could be. Sorry about the vague description. I suppose I can post a linked picture and crop it so only the "pimple" shows but i'm not sure if that is appropriate :)
Any and all help would be very much appreciated!

Im Currently Deployed So I Cant Really Get To A Specialist About The Problem. But If U Go To The Doctor About It Please Reply Back & Let Me Know The Outcome.

Haha that's weird Sneak! Honestly, I don't think it's anything bad at all. Like I said it doesn't bother me, there's no pain (even when I tried to pop/pinch it off, which sounds very painful but wasn't), it's kinda just there. I actually see these types of pimpes I believe on older people's faces but they are much larger. It kinda looks like there is a bead under the skin or something. Mine isn't large though, it's pretty small, but there. I'll let you know if I find any more information on it.

I have the same problem.. I'm worried it could be a wart?? It reminds me of when I was a kid and had warts on my knee... I only have one little bump on my penis though.. So, I don't know what the heck it is.. It scares me though... Sneak, if you are currently deployed, that means you're in the military?? You get free medical, couldn't you ask one of your docs?? I've had mine for about a year now... Why wont it go away???

I hope you don't mind a female stepping in, but alot of men have this problem and don't know what it is. Do you guys shave around the pubic area? this could give you razor bumps and is extremely common.
Is it just an isolated bump? or is there anymore around it?
I don't want to scare anyone but it sounds a little like HPV. Especially, being painless and flesh colored.
Please go get it looked at guys. I know people who have had this and didn't get it looked at, and it was a mess to clear up. Also, HPV can cause cancer.
If you have had it for over a month and it hasn't gone away, I would really take this into consideration. For your own healths sake!
Good luck guys, hope you all feel better!

Thanks for the reply hardxcore216! Honestly though, I haven't been sleeping around and I know my girlfriend hasn't (we use a condom anyway with the exception of once or twice (after this popped up) so is HPV still a possibility? I'm doing some research on it right now.
Also worth noting is it started to itch a little bit a few minutes ago. I looked at it and it was red. I squeezed it again because it felt like there was a tiny scab on it, thinking it would pop, but it turned red. A little bit of liquid discharged as I squeezed it but it was clear. It looks as if it were bleeding, but it wasn't. VERY little liquid came out though, so maybe it was blood? My finger wasn't red though.
Sorry if that sounds disgusting :o
Also, it doesn't look like any of the general warts i'm seeing in pictures.

HPV doesn't always look like the pictures you see.
I don't have HPV but someone close to me does, and what they have doesn't look like the pictures you see on google, or other sources of the internet.
HPV can live in the body undected for months to years, and just make an appearance out of no where. So even if you and your girlfriend/wife are manogomous, that doesn't mean either one of you couldn't have contradicted it previously.
My suggestion is, whatever it is, Don't pop it. If it is HPV you will spread it that way to other areas around it.
If you don't shave your pubic area, then it's definately not something normal. Razor bumps would be the only reason you would see a normal bump or two.
For the sake of you and your significant other, get it checked out. They'll get you some cream and it will handle the outbreak if it is. You just want to be sure that's not what it is because HPV can cause PIDS and ovarian as well as other genital related cancers to both you and her. It's an extremely common thing, so don't freak out.
I would like to think it maybe is just a pimple?
How long have you had it? or atleast when did you notice it?

Oh and might I add, just because you use a condom, means nothing.
HPV is contracted through skin to skin touching, so if you are wearing a condom, and you have it on your pelvis, when both your perlvis' touch, you can spread the virus onto hers, and vise versa.

Thanks for the reply. It's been there for maybe about a month now. Honestly, I have slept with three women in my life and I know for a fact they were all clean. I know I may sound like i'm in denial, but hey lol :o I do shave that area and i'm thinking it may be an ingrown hair. I'm gonna do some more research on that but ultimately I think I will go see the doctor. I've been having some other issues as well, so I think I should get a complete checkup. It's been a while. I really appreciate your help!

My hubby has a black head that pops up on the head of his penis. It's not a big deal. It has been popping up for 8 years now. He'll squeeze it out and in about 6 months it shows up again. The itching and redness is probably from you trying to squeeze it. You irritated it. Go get checked. It may me nothing at all. Then again, you never know for sure. Rather be safe than sorry. goodluck!

Yeah, it's ultimately better to be safe than sorry.
It's very possible to be an ingrown hair, especially if you shave in that region. But I there's alot of people who pass it off as just an ingrown hair and find out otherwise later down the road.
If it's only one or maybe even two, it's likely that's what it is. But if you have any on your shaft, or other regions you know you don't shave, It's not an ingrown hair.
A blackhead is obvious, it's just what it is, and in your case, it's not a blackhead.
I guess I should have bothered to ask you two simple questions, and it totally slipped my mind.
How big is the bump? compare the size to something.
And..
Is it perfectly round like a pimple, or seem to have alittle but of a flat surface on top?

Not sure what I could compare it to in size. It's not tiny but very small. Smaller than a regular pimple I would say. Maybe a little larger than the size of the little white snow balls on Sno Caps candy?
No flat surface at all. If anything, it's even more round than a pimple. It looks like half of a sphere. There is a very small black dot on the side of it that wasn't there until yesterday.
I was thinking about using neosporin on it, or putting some hot water on a q-tip and applying a little bit of pressure a couple of times per day to see if it starts to go away. It is on the shaft towards the tip but I get a couple of stray hairs there, so it could be an ingrown hair. I'm trying to find some pics for comparison. From what i'm reading though, ingrown hairs are pretty painful and so far (thankfully) i'm not feeling any pain.

Ok, I thought this was mostly on your pelvic region.
If it's on your shaft, get it looked at.
Especially being the size of a tiny dot on a sno-cap.
This is exactly how people start off. Just a tiny little bump that doesn't really itch or hurt until later on, and then they grow into something bigger, and almost start to look like big skin tags.
I looked up some pictures, and mostly I saw photos of advanced HPV, which is why it's probably not helping you. It seems more unlikely to be a stray ingrown hair.
I would make the appointment. If this is indeed what it is, you can treat it with cream. If you wait it out, and that's what it is, It will grow and multiply, and be harder to treat, and then they either have to freeze or burn it off. I think it's some sort of freezing method.
HPV works alot like herpes, you can have it, and it will harvest itself in your body for a while, sometimes even years, and just make an appearance, it's an outbreak.
Right now, I would be completely safe. Don't have sex with your partner until you get it looked at, and verified if it is, or isn't. It's very contagious.
An ingrown hair would be much larger in size, looking exactly like a pimple. HPV starts off small, looking like a tiny little skin tag that's fleshy color, or even white.

Ok, I'll narrow this down a little more for you.
are any of them close together? like grouped? or are they all spread out at a distance?
It's unlikely to be pimples. Pimples will look like pimples, and massage oil will usually not create a reaction unless you are allergic or have sensitive skin, and that's not even a common case.
They start off very tiny, which is confusing for a pimple, except they are smaller than a pimple. Actually pretty small.
What's the color of them? and shape?
Also, where are they located at?
I'm not trying get too personal, I'm just trying to get a better idea, so if you are uncomfortable with any of this, you don't have to answer.
How long have they been there?
A good way to check is, rubbing over the area, make sure to clean your hands afterwards, but if you rub over a pimple, you kinda feel a bump with a smooth texture, A HPV wart will feel a lot harder, and they usually stiick out a little straighter and further than a pimplem so you will definately know how hard it is.

I urge you to make a DR. appointment.
It's definately something that isn't supposed to be there, and sounds alot like HPV or herpes, but I'm betting on HPV.
I would stop all sexual activity with your partner (if you currently have one) right until it's checked. These things are so spreadable it's hard to keep up with. Everytime you touch them, go to the bathroom..etc. Wash your hands. The virus can get on your hands, and pass to other people, or other places on your body that you touch. It works alot like pink eye, but can spread to anywhere on your body.
I only urge you to get it treated immediatly, because the longer you wait, the more of a pain it is to treat them. The cream they will give you if you are in early stages will take up to 2 weeks, but I've read that most people had it gone in a week. If you wait, it will take much longer to treat, and possibly need to be burned of frozen off. I think they freeze it though I'm not sure.
I read on another message board that people say the cream makes it itch and burn, and sometimes ALOT, so try and take care of it so you don't have to go through several weeks of it, and maybe just a few days.
The good part is, alot of people say they don't have alot of reoccuring breakouts, of course some will, but not too many. HPV is actually really common, so don't feel strange when you make that appointment. just make sure any sexual contact you have, you are still careful, and can be passed even without a breakout, but when you do have one, you will likely pass it.
I hope this has helped you some.
But please get it checked. HPV can, although not too commonly, result in cancer. I'd hate to see someone end up with numerous problems down there when their really is a simple fix.

HPV is a group of viruses that can cause infection in the skin surface of different areas of the body including the genital area. The virus can cause visible warts of the skin or may only cause microscopic changes in the cells of the skin. Also called the Human Papilloma Virus.
If you feel like you want a more assuring answer, or diagnosis before you see a doctor, Check with HPV boards on here. If you descrive your symptoms, some one will be able to tell you if they have the same thing, and what they were diagnosed with.

You guys, please help me out! I'm freaking.
So, I have this bump on the side of the shaft of my penis. It's bigger than the hair folicles there, so I'm kind of worried.
The thing is, I was reading up on descriptions of STD infections that it could be, and most things i've found say that if it was Herpes or something, it would last for weeks even a month. I've had one of these bumps MONTHS ago and it disappeared after a few days.
If it goes away after a few days, is it most likely just a pimple? Cuz it also has pus in it. It kind of hurts a bit too, but it doesn't itch, and it didn't start out small it just popped up over night. Should I be worried???

hardxcore216, what type of doctor should I go to for this? I've never been in this situation before. Should I go to my regular doctor or a skin specialist? Or should I go to a doctor who specializes in that region? I'm pretty embarassed to go to the doctor because I also have tight foreskin (which i'm working on using the stretching methods, and it's working so far) but anyone who is professional about it won't make me feel uncomfortable I guess.

Hey Nick, do you have a family practioner? You shouldn't have to go to a specialist. Your regular MD may refer you to one if they don't think they can handle it. Also, Planned Parenthood is a good place to go. They go by your income for payment. They used to work mainly with women. Now, they deal alot with both. They deal with situations like yours all the time. Not a big deal. Just look in your yellow pages and you should find one around you with no problem. Oh, and they won't make you feel uncomfortable at all!! They deal with nastier stuff. Goodluck!!

I agree with Momma,
You're general practitioner, or somewhere like Planned parenthood could help you out. And believe me, they have seen worse cases and a dozen cases like yours, you should not feel embarassed at all. It's life, things happen, so don't go putting it off because you feel embarassed.
You'll really feel embarassed when it's a complete mess down there if you don't!

Hey guys - I'm new here, but got a question ... What I have doesn't sound like what's been described. I really do think I have a pimple on my penis more near to the pubic hair area ... I 'popped' it earlier and puss followed by a little bit of blood came out. It felt very tender before and now it doesn't irritate me when I walk and it rubs against my boxers, for instance. It had a white head and everything ... this is my first zit on the penis. I've had one before around my anus area. Is this something normal every once in a while - the pimple on the penis, I mean? I was thinking of applying a little of my facial acne topical cream for my face on the area...would that not be wise?
