This morning at 8:00am Dad took his final breath and went to join Mom. All his children were there, his grandchildren had visited yesterday. We sang hymns and prayed with him for several hours. He went easy and had no pain. The wonderful people at hospice took great care of us and deserve lots of thanks.
Now, it seems, there are a million detail for me to deal with. The tears are pouring down my face right now but they will help to keep me busy.
Thanks to all of you here for your kind words and support during this short but very rough time for me.
God bless you all

I am so sorry to hear of your loss, but it seems like you all made it very peaceful for your dad and yes I can understand the tears and the planning and sure your mind is racing trying to finalize everything. My dad passed away in February from bladder cancer. (2 weeks from being diagnosed) It was hard for me to deal with since my husband is also battling SCLC and we have two sons to raise. My heart aches for you and I will give you an extra special prayer over the next couple of weeks to get you thru these hard times. During my day to day routine I think of a saying my dad would tell me or just some words of advice and I smile and even though my dad was hard on me I know he loved me. I do hope you can find some comfort in your memories with your dad. (and mom)
You are in my thoughts and prayers
Hugs,
Kim

So Sorry to hear about your loss. I have been there also with my Dad. I have such fond memories now and was glad he spent his last 6 months with me and my children. I miss him and he misses us im sure. Im off to put his flag up at his grave as he was a veteran. That is one promise he had me make to him was that his flag be put up every Memorial Day. God be with you and your family. Hugs

Hi
I just wanted to let you know that there is someone out there that knows exactly how you feel. I lost my dad just over a week ago to colon cancer stage 4. My mum died from multi organ faliure 3 1/2 years ago. I am 29, and left with their whole estate to sort out and there was no will. Luckily I have 2 brothers to help share the load, and my partner.
I hope you have someone to help you too. I'm thinking of you, stay strong x x x
