 Hi everyone...K so I am guilty! I am not the most healthiest person in the world when it comes to my diet..After battling my bout with constipation I think I have another problem..I am one of those people that hate to go to the doctor because you just know they are gunna find something! In the last 6 months, right as I am in a deep sleep at nite I am woke up with a serious pain deep in my bowel...it is a knifelike pain and it forces me up and pacin the floor. It usually last about half hour and 2-3 times a month. Has anyone else experienced this pain before? I have also had alot of changes such as indigestion after every meal, thin narrow mucousy bm's, cramping and bloating, vomiting, "smears" and serious problems with hemorroids. I plan to make an appt with my doctor (UGH) but I was just wondering about the deep pain inside bowel and if anyone has ever experienced it..Thanks!

Sounds like textbook IBS.I have had at times GI issues.I asked my doctor who said it was stress. Are you under a lot of tension lately?

John, thanks for replying. Yes I have been going thru some stress..I had a doctors appointment today because I got really concerned that something was wrong on the other end (woman parts). I thought my uterus was prolapsing but that was not the problem. There is something pushing everything down and so I go Monday for a colonoscopy...lucky me!! And i just love how the doctor says "we need to get you a colonoscopy appt right away" that really helps the stress level!

If it is excrutiating pain, it sounds like it could be Proctagia Fugax.

Ty for your reply lynne...I had a colonoscopy done yesterday..(quick way to loose 10 pounds!) Upon drinking the stuff to clean me out, there was no bowel movement, only water... so Im wondering where all my food is going..(hips maybe?) The doctor did send in a biopsy but did not say what for so I figure that maybe it is routine to do that. He did say that the small intestine curves in an upward direction and the large intesting kind of hangs down a bit..My small and large intestines are in opposite direction and overlap? He said to keep alot of fiber in my diet and that should be okay..but it still does not solve anything for me..I am waiting on my results from my pap last week and my biopsy and will go from there because I am confused! :)

Hi there,

Yes this could be IBS but then again it may not. I don't think it is anything more serious, however I would go to the doctor to get checked out. I had very similar problems and went to my doctor for months in severe pain, investigating the cause, endometriosis, bowel cancer etc, it was a nightmare. I wasn't getting anywhere, they were a crap practice so I went down the alternative route. I found out that I had all the classic symptoms of candida albicans (google it if u wish to find out more) but basically it is yeast overgrowth in the gut, the medical profession ignore and disregard it, and they just want to pump more drugs into people to temporarily stem the problem but not treat the underlying cause. I now am on a rigid diet, no diary, wheat, etc and the pain has significantly eased, it will be a long process to heal the bowel, but I would rather do this than spend another agonising year trailing to the GP to find out the problem.
