I got a CBC done a couple weeks ago and the results returned a very high white blood cell count, the OB thought it must be a mistake at the lab and had them re-do it, still high. They had me retest last week just to be sure and it has gone down, but is still very high, 19000 (it appears that normal range should be between 5000 and 10000). They have referred me to a hemotologist, but couldn't get an appointment until June 2. Any ideas what could be causing this? TIA.
Oh, also I do not have any colds, infections, symptoms not normal for pregnancy, or preexisting conditions. No blood clotting problems or bleeding gums or anything.

Hello, here it is a year later and I am having the same problem...high wbc count at 22000 and being referred to a hematologist. I am 22 weeks pregnant, so am interested in what happened with your situation, if you are still out there. I am very panicked and stressing out. If you or anyone has any thoughts please reply.

No one ever replied to me so I am posting a reply incase this happens to anyone else. My 1st piece of advice is STAY OFF THE INTERNET LOOKING FOR ANSWERS; it will scare the living daylights out of you. Second my doctor said I don’t have cancer (leukemia) or anything of that nature. I have what’s called a reactive WBC and they are just going to monitor it. I will try to update this throughout my pregnancy. So for anyone else that may have this happen good luck, no God Bless!
