I Want To Thank Those Who Repled To My Previous Posts. I Had My Biopsy, Which Was A Needle In My Side Where My Liver Is And You Here A Click, I Heard Two Clicks And That Was It. He Got Two Liver Samples And It Took About Ten Minutes. Now The Results Have Come In. They Rate It Like A Hurricane, O-4, Where Four Is The Worst. My Liver Scarring Or Cirrhosis Was A 0, And The Hep C Virus In My Liver Was A 1+. So Now Is My Dilemma, Not Having Insurance Should I Go For Treatment, Like The Interferon, Or Wait A Little Longer. I Am Self-employed And Live By Myself. I No Nothing About The Program Or What To Expect. Should I Plan On Not Being Able To Work If So I Would Need To Save Enough Money To Get By, And For How Long? Thanks For Your Time To Read This, Your Replies Are Important To Me. Thanks Again!!

Trying,

Without insurance, interferon + ribavarin treatments will bankrupt you.

I would wait and take a conservative liver enhancing approach to life. No chemical poisons, no alcohol, a healthy diet. Probably eating liver a couple times a week is a good idea.;) No cirrhosis is a big plus.

Try too move to a state that will guarantee your acceptance by a health insurance plan if you need care in the future.

I assume you are asymptomatic? Did they find the antibodies to Hep C on a routine blood test?

Remember too that the treatment is only around 50% effective, extremely unpleasant, and most people relapse when it is discontinued.

What did your doctor recommend?
