So, I feel great. Full of energy, go to the gym daily, eat tons of veggies and what not - - this morning I have used the restroom twice and both times there was bright red blood along with my stool (as well as the only color on the toliet paper when I wiped - - sorry! Gross)

First thing this morning, it was such an amount I thought perhaps my menstrual cycle had started, even though I didn't "feel" like it did.

Anyway, my question is, is it possible for this just to "happen" for no serious medical reason - - I do not feel sick whatsoever, this was not diarhea (sorry I can never spell that!)

So anyway, has anyone had a similar experience and it was nothing?

Obviously I'm not running to my Dr. if it only happens today - - and obviously I will if it continues.

Also, I currently take the following vitamins/supplements:

MSM
Milk Thistle
Alfalfa
Flax Oil
Super B complex
Centrum

Thanks in advance! I rarely post, but I love these boards, so informative and not a lot of drama! :) Two thumbs up!

Hi MaggiesFarm,
I would suggest you at least call your Dr. for some advice, though it is possibly nothing serious (internal hemorrhoid, anal fissure), blood mixed with your stool is not normal.
If it is bright red it is likely coming from the lower section of your rectum and not further up in the intestines.

Take control of your health and at least give the Doctor a ring to put your mind at ease and rule out anything more serious, you'll feel better.

Hmmm... well thank you for the ideas... I can say without a doubt it's neither of those! Thank goodness... and I have no pain whatsoever in that area or any area!

I definitely believe in getting to the Dr., but I'm also not overly worried just curious, I will wait and see if tomorrow is " the same! " :)

I understand, just fyi the reason I brought them up, I had an anal fissure recently (never even heard of it until I had it) and neither that nor internal hemmorhoids are painful, I didn't feel a thing and all of a sudden there was blood, there are no nerve ends in the rectum so there is no pain with internal hemmorhois, unless it is an outer hemmorhoid which is very painful.

Just a thought, it's got to be coming from something...

Good luck...

thanks mjk, something to consider, i read that both of those would be painful, but i suppose it depends on the location.
