I called the Dr. today to schedule a Glucose Tolerance Test and I got it scheduled for the 31st of this month.

The reason I did it on the 31st is because I already have an appt. with my Dr. on that date. Also, my Dr. is a 3 hour drive away because I live where I attend school and my Dr. is located back in my hometown where my insurance is out of.

I called my father to tell him of my appt and he got very upset and in turn made me upset. He thinks I am putting it off.

Am I waiting too long?

I just don't feel it is an ASAP type of thing. I think my blood sugar was high the last time I went to the Dr. because of other reasons than diabetes. I've never had symptoms before.

I know others will probably disagree but if you aren't having symptoms then it's ok to go then. If you are having the symptoms then I would go asap.I'm not one to run to the doc everytime the wind blows funny, but I'm very serious about taking care of my diabetes.Hope you have good results http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

I called and talked to my stepmom who is much more rational. She convinced me to move it to an ASAP date. I did that and I go in on Wed.

I hate going home because of my anxiety. However, I am trying to stay positive and think of this as a vacation and a chance to relax and be taken care of.

I just hope and pray my test comes back negative for anything, especially diabetes. That would be such a relief, it might totally cure my anxiety. hehe!
