I just wanted you to know that I went before the ALJ on yesterday and won my case..The judge actually gave me a bench decision...yippppeeee

I had applied in 2004....I am still in shock but, wanted to encourage everyone else who are waiting for a decision to hang in there because help is on the way...trust and believe it's coming.... :wave:

Thanks...tell me how long did it take before you got the notice and your first check...i will also get for my daughter who is 14...

I couldn't tell you how long to expect the first payment. I was one of the fortunate ones and did not have to go through any delays. But we are in an appeal process for my husband's disability so I too will be anxious to get his retro. His will be from 10/02 (didn't apply till 8/2005) but were told that if he wins they will go back to 10/02.

I applied in December of 2002 and was accepted in May 2003. My backpay check came by July 2003 and regular monthly checks stated in August.

My primary problems are a bone disease with many skeletal deformities, really bad asthma with markedly small lungs. There some other things, but I'm too tired to remember what they are right now :yawn: :confused:

thank you all for the responses....i'm happy that the biggest part is over...and I pray that everyone who is entitled to receive SSD/SSI receives it sooner than later..
