I was reading an article about ALA and was wondering your experiences with it. Did it keep your blood sugar more stable and how long did it take to start to work. What does it cost?

On one of the other diabetes forums a fella has been taking it for several years but has not noticed his BS being any different. This has been used in Europe for many years. I have not come to the conclusion that it will help that much if any and too many other things it can cause. SharonLee 07-15-2003, 02:59 PM I,ve been taking it for about 3 mos. My purpose is to try and reduce the neuropathy in my feet. No noticable change in blood sugars. avia 07-17-2003, 03:52 PM I have been taking 250 mg. twice a day now for about 4 months. I pay $25.95 for 60 but have found it cheaper on the Internet. My blood sugar has improved but I have also lost 21 lbs. so that may be the reason. My doctor told me it would not hurt me and also I checked with a nurse from my insurance that also checked with a doctor and they said the same thing. I have never read anything bad about it but would like to know what Kre has read. I suffer from neuropathy and although I still have it, it is not as severe as it once was - and it was BAD. avia 07-20-2003, 09:09 PM Originally posted by Kre: I have been researching this but what I have found tells me to leave it alone.
