I would like some help understanding my stomach problems. I have been told it could be gastroparesis. No real testing has been done and I am still in pain.
HELP PLEASE anyone.

Hi Texas... I know a little about GastroP. I read up on it when I started suffering from other Diabetic-caused ailments. I'm happy to say I don't suffer from GastroP because it seems I am able to eat, and pass, meals.

You mentioned pain. Are you full quickly when eating a meal? Is there bloating, and pain? And are you commonly constipated? The muscles normally used to move food do not work-autonomic muscles. Those are the basics, as far as I know.

The worst thing about GastroP is that there really is no effective treatment, medicine, known to help. I have heard of patients needing to massage their stomach area to help with digestion.

Good bg control and prayer are only hopes.

I would recommend that you check out _Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution_. He has a chapter in that book on gastroparesis and he gives some good suggestions of things that you can do to home to alleviate the symptoms.

Gastroparesis is the ONLY complication of almost 26 years with diabetes. I have found that REGLAN (metoclopramide) works. as it is a gastric stimulater. How it was diagnosed is a simple upper endoscopy. The signs and symptoms are

Symptoms of gastroparesis are:
Nausea
Vomiting
An early feeling of fullness when eating
Weight loss
Abdominal bloating
Abdominal discomfort.

These symptoms may be mild or severe, depending on the person.
