sweetie_41_2000 06-30-2003, 12:11 AM I would like some help understanding my stomach problems. I have been told it could be gastroparesis. No real testing has been done and I am still in pain. HELP PLEASE anyone. WoodRunner 07-02-2003, 09:24 PM Hi Texas... I know a little about GastroP. I read up on it when I started suffering from other Diabetic-caused ailments. I'm happy to say I don't suffer from GastroP because it seems I am able to eat, and pass, meals. You mentioned pain. Are you full quickly when eating a meal? Is there bloating, and pain? And are you commonly constipated? The muscles normally used to move food do not work-autonomic muscles. Those are the basics, as far as I know. The worst thing about GastroP is that there really is no effective treatment, medicine, known to help. I have heard of patients needing to massage their stomach area to help with digestion. Good bg control and prayer are only hopes. mama8 07-03-2003, 11:22 PM I would recommend that you check out _Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution_. He has a chapter in that book on gastroparesis and he gives some good suggestions of things that you can do to home to alleviate the symptoms. Rebecca1975 07-27-2003, 07:25 PM Gastroparesis is the ONLY complication of almost 26 years with diabetes. I have found that REGLAN (metoclopramide) works. as it is a gastric stimulater. How it was diagnosed is a simple upper endoscopy.
