ARe people on this forum mostly concerned with medications and ADHD in children?
It's seems that those are the questions that get responses.

well I have a concern with my meds right now actually (and i AM a kid technically being as im 15) but I'm on Celexa (Depression medicine) and Adderall XR (ADHD) and I think they're counteracting eachother b/c my Adderall is a stimulant but Celexa is a sedative...
so doesn't that mean that they cancel eachother out being as one winds you up and one winds you down? ugh im confused and im definately sure that I didnt help you one bit but your post looked lonely without any replies :)

Ha, Ha,
Thanks for responding. I have found that when I see no one else responding, I also feel compelled to respond.
Actually, I have discovered that not all people are discussing kids with ADHD or meds, but I suppose since it tends to run in the families, people need to discuss their problems as well as their kids.
I am also an adult and haven't been diagnosed yet. I would like more discussion about different people's coping mechanisms in dealing with day to day issues. How do you deal with organization, making goals, dealing with negative self-talk, restoring self-esteem, dealing with regret for past mistakes.
Since I am still educating myself about ADD, I am finding that I am looking back at my life and having light bulbs go off because now I understand a bit better why I always felt something was "wrong" with me.
It's good to share this with other adults.

busterangel,
The topics here seem to go in cycles. At the moment there are a lot of questions about meds, and of course parents will always be concerned about their kids. But we've had some interesting discussions about other topics -- sounds like it's time to start 'em up again.
In order to keep things a bit orderly, I suggest that you post a series of threads with specific questions. Sometimes these threads can get pretty long and rambly and off-topic, and if there is a specific question at the top, it helps to focus (!!!) things a bit -- and we need all the help we can get in that department!
You've raised some good topics: "I would like more discussion about different people's coping mechanisms in dealing with day to day issues. How do you deal with organization, making goals, dealing with negative self-talk, restoring self-esteem, dealing with regret for past mistakes." If you post them separately, we can get some great discussions going!
