My feet burn all the time especially the ball and toes .The big toes hurt
all night. Is there anything that helps? I use a vibrator and it helps some
and ice helps for a short time.
This constant pain is driving me crazy.

It does indeed sound like neuropathy. A few things you might want to try:
1. Capsaicn cream...you can get this OTC at most drugstores. It's made from the ingredient (capsaicn) that makes hot chili peppers hot, but it works paradoxically to diminish the pain senstations of neuropathy. Try it on a small area first, as some people have a bad reaction (if you do, just wash it off immediately).
2. Neurontin...I've heard some people say this medication gives them relief, although it never worked for me. It's by prescription on;y.
3. Vicodin...another prescription drug, this is a painkiller. I find it very effective.
You didn't say how well controlled your blood glucose is, but certainly high blood glucose will contribute to neuropathy. For some people who have had bad control in the past, bringing their bg under better control may reduce (although probably not eliminate) the symptoms of neuropathy. At the very least, it will prevent them from getting worse.
Good luck with this...neuropathy is no fun.

Oh James, Oh James, I certainly feel bad for you. I too have the same problem. When I found out I was diabetic, my bs was 600, and I'm sure it had been that way for over a year or longer after ooking back and realizing I had had the symptoms, but didn't think much about it. Anyway, when they dropped my bs in the hospital, my feet immediately started feeling weird and numb. I couldn't tell if they were hot, or extremely cold. I had to feel them with my hand to tell. I literally spent about 4 months with my feet on ice packs and it was unbearable to wear my shoes. God I was miserable. My doctor put me on Neurontin, and it seemed to help. It has been a year now, and they are not nearly as bad as they were, but they never feel normal. When my feet get cold, it is very hard to warm them up. They are very sensitive to heat. I know how you feel. It is miserable. I don't know if my feet will ever feel normal again, but at least it is bearable now. Lets keep that bs under tight control and maybe it won't get any worse.
