I'm going away myself for 3 weeks on the 27th of June.My refill is due on the 15th of june, instead of getting a 30 day supply,I suggested to my doc. just to give me a 10 day supply, wich would cover me till the 25th of june, then get a 30 day supply on the 25th[26th] wich would cover me comfortably till i get back, with a few days to spare, this way, theres no early refills, everyones happy.[I just replied to someones post, and figured this may help members when there going away.We all know how it can be when asking for an early refill] Mad.

this is my second try to add to your idea. my wife and i travel a great deal including many trips of longer than 30 days. My pain manager has gotten used to our travels and whenever i have a trip scheduled that carries me beyond a refill date, he simply prescribes "60 days supply" and that includes my OC script. in fact, he has the right to prescribe up to "90 days supply" on any single Rx, just the way the VA does it. of course, no physician worth a darn, would supply longer than 30 days supply unless the doc knew his patient very well. i've been with my pain manager for more than 9 years. he's a caring guy and works with me to try to keep my pain under control. unfortunately, my pain went beyond his ability to treat it and i had to change managers. my new doc seems like a sympatico man. hope so.

I do it that way because it avoids all the bull with,in my case comp. wondering why[ if i were to get an early re-fill] Then even though i had the doc. permission for early refill, comp. would want to call my doc. then call the pharm. back etc. It would be a big waiting game.
