My son has never really eaten much. He has always eaten the same things as he did when he was younger like bananas or Farina. He has latly not hardly been eating. This is a significant drop in appetitte compared to his normal not eating. He has not lost weight though yet. He also vomits several times weekly at various times and i cant figure out why. He started vomiting in January of this year. he has had a swollen node on the side of his neck for about 9 months. He has been complaining of severe leg pains. It started out just once in a while so I thought growing pains but it is happening several times a week day or night. He will not walk or put pressure on his legs when he is in pain. He doesnt sleep well at night even though he takes clonidine. We have some nights where he cries out all night long. I have tken him to the Dr several times for these things. they drew blood and it was normal except he was slighly anemic which Dr was not surprised since he has a poor diet. She attributed the pain to growing pains. Said swollen node is normal in kids b/c they get so may infections and they would worry only if it was golfball sized. He also complains of headaches but I am thinking its from crying but it is so hard to tell in a 3 year old. Please I could use some advice. Should I calm down and let it go or should I be concerned?

If this was my child I would keep on taking him back and I would ask for a second opinion and even a third. The throwing up is definately not normal.I would go with your instinct, which is very powerful in a mother. If you think something is wrong then it usually is.xxx

I would take him for a second opinion. This definitely does not seem normal for a 3-year-old. I'd also question why a child that age needs to be on clonidine?

If there's a children's hospital near you, I would make an appointment for an evalutation. If not, do see another pediatrician for a second opinon.
