I went to the gyno on thursday and she put me on 10 mgs of medroxyprogesterone I started it Thursday night. I still don't have a period. Has anyone else been on this to start their period. I am anxious to just get it.

I have recently myself been put on this to help regulate my periods. I took all 10 pills and still have not started. My gyno stated that it usually takes 10 days after you finish the pills to start. Of course I still have not so she is having me go through another round of pills. If this does not work I am to go back in. She ran blood work and said I was ovulating, but for some reason I cannot get my period. They might need to check your hormone levels. I would ask your doctor if you are unsure.

I would certainly ask my doctor to do a prolactin level. Missed periods over a period of three or four months is sometimes a symptom of a pituitary problem.

Heartsy makes a good point, please have them check that as well. I finally had to be put on birth control to have my periods start again. The metformin and the progesterone did not work. All my bloodwork came back normal I guess my period did not want to come until I had to have surgery on a cyst on my ovary.
