I'm having this weird back issue. Every time I walk, when I move my right leg I feel something poping my my lower back. It's not the same feeling as when you crack your back its different. it doesn't necessarially hurt but it's uncomfortable and irritating, however, it starts to ache toward the end of the day. This has been happening for the past couple days. Does anyone know what it might be? I didn't know where to put this post because the poping is in my back but it happens when I move my hip. Frankly walking around and hearing/feeling something pop grosses me out. Does anyone else know what this might be or has anyone experienced it? Plus I"m 23...aren't I too young to have a back or hip problem?

BP,

When we assume back issues are for the older crowd, yes you are too young. But in reality, no, it happens at any age. I was a total sports nut and into everything that related to sports and working the body as a child/young adult. I injured my back at 18 and have had issues since. I am now 44 years old.

That popping could anything from soft tissue (muscle), to bone, or ligament. These all create popping or clicking sounds.

You need to get yourself to a doctor, and preferably an orthopod who can better diagnose what is going on with you and provide you with proper treatment going forward.

Don't sit and wait it out, always err on the side of caution and treat your body with respect, you can't afford not to.

Good luck and I hope that it's nothing serious and just need some exercise and stretching more. Keep posting and let us know how you are doing. Feel better. Tammy

Age has nothing to do with back problems. I am 26 and had a laminectomy last year and now have spinal stenosis in my neck in which I will be having surgery to correct this problem. Also for the last 3 weeks I have barely been able to get out of bed due to extreme pain from degenerative disk disease. Age does tend to make things worse since it is mostly about wear and tear but back problems have nothing to do with age. Go get it checked!
