well, my daughters endocrinologists office had called back, and she left me a message, basically stating that it doesnt sound like there is anything wrong with my daughter, that they should look into other non-endocrine reasons why my daughter has symptoms that she does. She said that because when my daughter has food or gatorade, and if that doesnt make her feel better, its something else, because sugar usaully resolves endocrine problems. Does that make sense? I really dont know what to think. At first they did a test, came back low cortisol, they re did it, it came back normal, and yet my daughter is constantly getting dizzy, fatigued, sleepy, no energy, etc. So, any suggestions now?

I'm fairly new to Addison's, but I didn't think sugar had anything to do with it. Salt should help, but if she has Addison's, nothing much helps except hydrocortisone. Has she had the cortrosyn stimulation test? Does she have pigmentation of her skin?

hi, yes she had that test twice, first time they said her cortisol was low, so the re did the test, said it was normal. she does have a few spots on her skin where she looks "dirty" is that what you mean?

As already stated, sugar doesn't help...salt does. Salty protein foods would help a bit. I would run from that doc. Can you find another endo & get her retested? Sure hope you can find some answers.

Hi GrinchDizz
\
Gatorade can help give a lil boost with the genral fatigue and light headness etc. but yeah Hydro is the real fix. Get a new Endo, and sugar is a negative for help with addisons, Try sucking down a pack of saltine crackers and Salted pretzels as a boost.
keep us posted
