Hello all,
My boyfriend and I have casually been TTC for almost 3 years now. I say casually because we haven't been using protection but we haven't really been stressing it either, kind of a if its meant to be it'll happen thing. My question is this: over the past 4 years I've had some issues with cervical dysplasia. I had 2 LEEP procedures done but it kept coming back. Then my doctor suggested this medicine that he said is normally used to treat herpes but he's had success with it in situations like mine before. I can't remember what the medicine was called but I know I had to go to his office once a week for 3 weeks and have it applied to my cervix. That did the trick and I haven't had any problems since (*knocks on wood*). Now before I had both of the LEEPs done I asked if this would affect my chances of having children in the future and he said that it would make my cervix weak but at worst it would only result in a C-Section. He said it shouldn't affect my chances of getting pregnant. Well its been over 2 1/2 years and still no baby. I am making an appointment to discuss this with him (I haven't said anything yet because, like I said, we've only been "casually" TTC). I was just wondering if anyone thinks that it may be possible that I can't have a baby? Just to satisfy my curiousity while I'm waiting for an appointment...
Oh - I'm not sure if this makes a difference but I was on the Depo shot for about 4 years prior to all of this.
Thanks in advance for the advice!

I have also had two LEEP's an am currently 16 weeks pregnant. My Dr. never mentioned to me that the LEEP's would affect my ability to conceive, but like you, he told me I'd more than likely have an incompetent cervix. He was right about that. I think it's definitely time for you to consult your Dr. about TTC. It may be another issue that is keeping you from conceiving. Good luck, let us know how things turn out.
