A couple of weeks ago I got out the shower and was covered in litle itchy red spots, i went to the doc who said such an extensive rash is an allergy and he wouldnt test me because they would take ages to try and root out the exact cause, he has given me a drug called Texa to take.

However recently i have broken out in an excema type rash around my mouth and have little bumps stretching down my neck...i have tried to cut out things like fish...however im still not sure what is causing it, i have had my normal diet that i have always have, bits of dairy and the obvious wheat, but could a wheat reaction cause this or dairy reaction..hjave any of you had this and how did you work it out by elimination? Its incredibly frustrating and gets embaressing with this rash..
thanks

If it first happened out of the shower, I would suspect a shampoo, soap etc.. before I would suspect food. Did you have the hives before you dried off with a towel? I have heard that dryer sheet residue can cause hives. Because they are heat activated, they cause the most problems when you use a towel with the residue after a hot shower. Also, maybe the chlorine balance in your water was upset or changed recently?

You doctor sounds like a jerk IMHO. If the rash is an ongoing problem then it needs to be investigated. I can see what your doctor is saying if it was a fluke occurance. But if you are still having problems, you need to be treated. I would seek the advice of a dermatologist.
