Hello Everyone,
I have been reading feveriously all the posts about L C since we got home from Mayo. My Jim was there for his regular check up on his aortic aneurysm that they are watching. On his routine xray, they found a 1 cm nodule. Tomorrow, we will make the 7 hour drive back and he will have a high resolution cat scan to look at this thing. We also found out his aneurysm is ready for an operation to fix it, but what will they do now. If they confirm L C will they just forget the aneurysm and treat the L C or do they have to fix the aneurysm first. I live each day knowing the AA could rupture and he would be gone in 5 minutes, so I don't understand why I am so scared about this probable L C.
He has had a cough for a year and is a former smoker who quit 20 years ago. Otherwise he is well and looks well. He even gained weight again this year.
He is working like a madman to finish up some projects at home before we leave tomorrow.
Thanks for listening and posting. I know there a great bunch of folks here who can help us get through this.

Hi-
Wow, so overwhelming what you and your husband are going thru...enough with the aneursym, but now possible lung cancer...so sorry to hear of how much he is enduring. It sounds like you are on the right track and on top of things. I would think (I am no doctor) that they would do the surgery if the cancer is in early stage. (if infact it is cancer...let's pray it is not) I do know if the cancer is advanced they don't like doing surgery elsewhere in the body. I can understand your fears about lung cancer....the word cancer is very scary. I will send some prayers your way and do hope all will be negative and his surgery for the aneursym will be smooth.
Stay positive...

A lot on my plate is right. I am also caregiver for my 86 yo Mom who lives next door to us. Still, my plate is no fuller than many of the courageous persons who post here. My heart breaks when reading many who are suffering through this terrible disease. Its not just us, but our children, grown and small. My daughter is so upset, she made a mistake at work today, she said she knew different, but it happened. Stress, stress, stress. My blood pressure is up 20 pts.
We will push on and keep a positive attitude until we know for sure. I think we know though really, Jim was a brake specialist for 30 years. Absestos.
Thanks for the support and prayers.

Hello again,
I just wanted to post a follow up to my DH high resolution CTscan. They are 99% sure that he DOES NOT have LC. He has many nodules of various sizes showing and confirmation will come when they repeat the CT scan in October. He will be watched since he is at high risk for LC with a history of smoking and abestoes exposure. Still I am so relieved. He does have some very minimal ****. The bad thing is his aneurysm has grown to the level of ready to operated, so they will likely do that in October when he is cleared. Thank you all for your advice and care.

I was so relieved for you and your husband as I was reading the posting that he does not have lung cancer and then I was so saddened to hear he has to have surgery for the aneurysm in October. We have a friend who had surgery and his was very severe and he is doing great. (that was about 11 years ago) Please keep in touch and I can just imagine the relief you had when you found out he did not have lung cancer, but now having to go thru surgery. Hang in there and enjoy the summer months with your husband!
Take care of yourself!

You take care Sivad....there is so much going on and I know how you are trying to stay strong for everyone. If it is truly NOT LC then you are so good into things. Hallelujah. I can understand your husband kicking into high gear to get things done. Mine is the same way and we...as their spouses are the ready volunteers...LOL. I have been working my fanny off I don't know how many weekends in a row since I work FT still. But, their sense of urgency to get things done and wrapped up for our benefit, I can appreciate. I would be the very same way. Git'er done. Keep us posted on how things are progressing. We are here for you.
Hugs and love from Indiana....
