i didn't want to hijack the latest stretching thread, so here's another. ;) has anyone used yoga as a means of stetching? it's a great way to increase flexibility and agility, and decrease stress. i did it 4-5 times/week earlier this year, and felt much better. i quit when my knees started acting up, but i'm thinking about trying again. i'd love to take a class, tho.

Yes, I've done a lot of yoga over the years, and I think it is great as long as I did not push myself beyond my "comfortable capacity". That is, as long as I could just do my own practice and not try to "show off" or compete with others in the class. Some of my best results from yoga have been by using a tape and doing the postures by myself. Anyway, good luck to you and your yoga class. I don't have CP but I think it'd be great for it as long as you are gentle with yourself.

my mom always used to drag me to her yoga and/or pilates classes, but I hate them so I don't go anymore! I did go to a yoga class for PWDs once, and I liked that better, but I was like the youngest person there by about 30 years. My AB sister came with me and basically told my parents that it was too easy and that I should be in a regular class

My mom signed us both up for classes a few years ago. She didn't get much out of it because she was helping me with my moves. I didn't get as much out of it as everyone else in the class. A PWD class, hmm, that is an interesting idea.
