I have a 9 yr old son and he has gas like you wouldn't believe. He's been that way for about 2 yrs. but it finally occurred there might be a problem. I have him scheduled to see a pediatrician in about 2 wks but I was just wondering if you all might have a suggestion.
He looks chubby but really isn't. Face, arms and legs are normal size. He has a "beer belly" but it's firm, not flabby. He doesn't complain of any discomfort or being sick feeling. BM's are pretty regular. That's all the details I have.

Could he be lactose intolerant? Dairy products give me gas most of the time (more gas than usual, and my family would tell ya that's a scary thing!) :p

I don't think that's the problem- but then again I'm not a dr. How would I figure that out? Just take him off milk for a little while?

Yes, I would think so. I'm not strictly intolerant, but I've determined that dairy does create somewhat of a problem for me by cutting it out altogether at some points. Now, as a rule, I stick with soy products, and I'm much more comfortable.

My 2 yr old just tested positive for celiac disease, she has most of the symptoms. She has: distended abdomen, frequent infections and fevers, constipation, diarrhea, poor eating, poor growth. Etc. It doesn't hurt to ask for that blood test. Hope you find out what is going on.
Good Luck
