Has anyone had intestinal troubles on a low carb diet or using sugar substitutes? I started a low carb diet about three weeks ago and have used Splenda for most of that time. About 9 days ago, diarrhea started up. I stopped using Splenda about 4 days ago, but have seen no improvement. I've never had this problem before, so thought it must be connected to my change in diet.

Exactly what do you mean by "low carb diet". There are various ways to consume a low carb diet and still be a balanced diet.

Are you doing Adkins Diet or similar?

I do low carb but it is by eating lean meat in moderation and mostly green and other non-starch veggies plus a little fruit. I stay within 30 individual carbs per meal and count carbs in everything and do not subtract fiber grams.

The type low carb diet I am using does not cause stomach problems. My way of low carbing is still a balanced diet but not consuming starches except on occasion and that is very small amount.

My diet is similar to yours. I basically watch the carbs and try not to eat more than 15 gm at a meal (fiber subtracted). I also eat small portions of lean meat. I do eat a lot of salads and non starchy vegetables. I usually drink water or coffee--no milk.
