My mom recentlyly got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes... all of my mother and fathers side of the family has it too, not my dad though, and i was wondering am i on the verge of diabetes? I used my moms blood pressure tester thingy http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/round.gif and it was 98, that was my lowest, my highest has been 111, I dont want diabetes it will affect my social life...
The normal range for non-diatetic people 2 hrs after a meal is up to 120.
Fasting for non-diabetic would be 70-110.
Your numbers are o.k. at this time.
It is wise that you make good food choices and exercise in order to prevent diabetes. Diabetes was in my family too but I did not get it until in my 60's. Had I been more careful and controlled my weight and ate more healthy I could have possibly avoided geting diabetes.
If a person is overweight they need to lose weight. Excess weight causes glucose intolerance.

Just checking...did you mean to say you used your Mom's blood glucose monitor? Or, did you actually use her blood PRESSURE tester? The device that measures blood pressure will tell you absolutely nothing about your blood glucose.
If those numbers were actually blood glucose, they appear to be good. You can take steps now to ensure that you don't develop type 2 diabetes in the future. Be sure to eat right, and don't overdo on the carbohydrates, manage your weight and stay well within the guidelines for your body type and height, and make exercise a daily habit. All of these will help prevent the onset of Type 2 diabetes in most people.
