View Full Version : Hemangiomas?

I had my doctor look at a couple of spots on my legs. One was a mole which he removed and it came back benign. The other spot he said was a hemangioma, not cancerous. OK, everything I have read on hemangiomas talks about them forming shortly after birth or in children. I am 46 years old and have had this place on my leg, down towards the ankle, for about 1 to 1 1/2 years. It seems to be changing, getting somewhat bigger, not uniform in shape. You can press on it and it turns white, then when you take pressure off it returns to a dark pink/reddish color. I have the same thing forming on my upper arm, although it tends to be a dry patch most of the time.

Does anyone have any info on hemangiomas? Can they form in older people? I am thinking maybe I should get a 2nd opinion.

I have NUMEROUS of these little boogers! No flaky ones tho. THAT needs checked. Cherry Hemagiomas are really benign, and when you press on them the blood goes away from them. Babies are or can be born with them. However, Its also an hereited thing too. I am getting more and more surfacing now. Derm says they are fine. You can have them on the inside also. I have 3 large ones on my liver. But ALWAYS get flaky ones looked at! God Bless and best of luck!
