Feeling kinda stupid and down. This has been a very rough week in the parenting division of our household. We have two sons who are adopted and they are 2 months apart in age. They are in kindergarten and this was their last week of school.

Due to it being the last week of school, the school had lots of assemblies happening every day, and other activities for the kids to do. So, their normal daily routines were all goofed up. That doesn't seem so bad but to a child with ADHD that is like a total loss and devistation. It rocks his world upside down. CHAOS!!! :bouncing: He turns into a nightmare child. Then on top of it, we have had a lot going on at home, and have been super busy and have a lot going on this weekend for him to look forward to as well. So a lot going on inside of his head to think about . Too much STIMULATION!!!!!

I haven't even had time for him, to sit down and calm him down; period. NOrmally I do this every day after school with books for quiet time and then give him a radio to listen to for 15 mintues or so. He really likes to read and loves music. Soothing. This week has just not been good on him. So everything has gone bonkers in his world.

At school this week he turned into a little aggressive guy who was so fierce that he couldn't control his impulses. Typical of a child with ADHD. Then the same way at home. After 3 days of this at school, they finally had enough, and sent his rear home yesterday morning; yes- they kicked him out of school for a day and told him he could come back the last day if he could change for the better.

That evening he was even naughtier at his grandmothers house. He cut off all the flower tops of her flower beds. Why? We don't know. Just to be naughty. :( Today he was naughty in the am before school but he made it to school and the principal sat him down for quiet time before school. He had a good day.

On another note. His brother stuck his head in the toilet today. Yes; You heard it and just read it. THE TOILET BOWL!!! Why? We assume to make the other kids laugh. He too, can be naughty.

I just feel so like I've failed as a parent having the principal call so much in 2 days. The principal was very kind about it all.

ANyway, I'm starting to get set off with everything. Depressed. ANxiety. It is hard for me to keep up with the housework when ADHD son is out of control and I get like this. My routine is busted as well.

Just needed to vent

Coffeegirl :

Reading carefully all you had to say about your ADHD son, there is a need for you to try to answer this question. Who's fault is it that your son has ADHD ? Answer : Nobodies ! So all the symptoms and signs are just going to be there for the school personel to deal with. How they do this is their responibility. And how you and your DH deal with it is your responibility. And you know what, you have always done a very good job from the day you brought the boys home.

You need to give yourself a big gold star. After all, you have learned to deal with your own BPD the best you know how !

You know me :)

Coffeegirl (((((HUGS))))) I have three children with add/adhd. Would not trade them for anything in the world. Have had some challenges though. What kind of opinion would you have on a lady that gives two children a warm, loving home? pinkeetoz
